The story of Paperblanks begins in 1992. Driven by the desire to create the perfect notebook, we sought out iconic images from diverse artistic and cultural traditions for our journal covers. Today we continue to offer unparalleled art curated from unique points throughout history, each one selected to inspire your creativity and self-expression.

1992 - We launch our first Paperblanks collection from Vancouver, our Canadian hometown

1995 - We introduce Literary Manuscripts, an early precursor to our Embellished Manuscripts and Old Leather Collections

2002 - Paperblanks launches in Europe

2004 - We open our European headquarters in Dublin

2022 - We officially join Hachette UK during our 30th anniversary year
What’s Next for Paperblanks?
Coming up in Fall 2024 we are delighted to introduce our very first series of cahier notebooks, which bring affordable luxury to everyday note-taking.
We are also expanding our Softcover Flexi notebook range, including Daphnis from our Daphnis & Chloe series.
This upcoming season we’re thrilled to be partnering with Oscar-nominated, BAFTA- and Emmy-winning Irish animation studio Cartoon Saloon for our Irish Folklore Trilogy series. This is the first of many exciting commercial partnerships we have in the works, so be sure to stay tuned for announcements on the latest Paperblanks collaborations!
